- Wirework is an incredibly popular and satisfying method of making jewellery. With a few basic techniques, and lots of tips, you will soon be able to make bead and wire jewellery in whatever style you prefer. This class will cover all of the basic techniques you need as well as giving you the opportunity to try different tools. Ater finishing the day you will be able to follow any wirework pattern you find in a magazine or book as well as design your own pieces. On the day there will also be lots of finished pieces of jewellery to see and discuss for inspiration. The day will cover:
- Turned and wrapped loops
- Joining sections
- Adding beads
- Using jump rings
- Making head and eye pins
- Forming heart and other wire shapes- Flat coils
- Hammering your work to add texture and change the hardness
- Using a wig-jig
- Wire tubes- both by hand and with a wire-winder
- Using chains
- Designing jewellery and much more! You will leave the class having completed a bracelet and two pair of earrings as well as lots of samples of everything covered on the day. Please note:

- A day spent learning how to make these beautiful chains using jump rings. Ideal as pieces of jewellery by themselves, or embellished with beads, the chains can also be used for straps for bags or purses. As well as covering the basics of chain maille, the day will consist of exploring six different chains and many variations on them. The chains we cover are:
- Loop in loop
- Twisted/ flower chains
- Clover-leaf (this is a chain invented by me and therefore not available elsewhere)
- Byzantine
- Box
- Plus a surprise one as a reward for the end of the day!We will also look at different ways of using the chains and combining them with other bead or wire-work. Please note:
No experience is necessary to attend this class.
Jump rings are the only supply you need for the day and I will have a range of these for sale, starting at just £1 a back.

- Viking Weave is an incredible technique that's both easy to master and satisfying to finish! The class will cover all of the basics of the technique as well as extras such as turning it into finished pieces and adding embellishments. As the finished project may not be completed in class, as well as containing all you will need to make a finished necklace, the class kit also has everything you will need to finish your piece at home and go onto make further pieces.
